Chapter: Biomolecules
Introduction:
Biomolecule is an organic molecule that is produced by living organism. They act as building block of life and perform important functions in living organisms. They are primarily composed of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous and Sulphur. The four common biomolecules are proteins, nucleic acid, carbohydrates and lipids. For analysis of chemical composition of organic compound, living tissues are treated with trichloroacetic acid and grind it to form slurry. For inorganic chemical composition, sample of tissue should be burnt to obtain ash.
Chapter Analysis:
There have been regular rise and fall in the number of questions asked from Biomolecules over the past 10 year. Starting from 0 questions in 2009, it reached its peak in 2013 with 4 questions, fell down to 1 in 2015, rose again to 3 in 2016, and the last paper saw 2 question being asked from this particular topic. Cumulatively, a total of 21 question have been asked from this chapter. So, we can expect atleast two questions from this chapter in the coming years. The below given bar-graph illustrates the frequency of question appearing in the paper from this chapter:

Year | 2019 | 2018 | 2017 | 2016 | 2015 | 2014 | 2013 | 2012 | 2011 | 2010 | 2009 |
